About
I started writing about my travels in China when I was an exchange student in Beijing in 2008. Back then, this blog was named after my favourite snack Pejoy, the Chinese version of Pocky. That's how it began.
In 2013, Rui & I decided it's time to do something different so we left our decent paying jobs in Singapore (and family and friends), packed our bags and flew to New Zealand. We never expect this would turn into quite a long OE. 6 years later, we are now back home with our little one and enjoying the change in scenery and of course the company of family and friends again.
Mrsjono is about Mei & Rui's journey around the world. This is where I spend time reflecting on my experiences and piecing together our adventures after returning home. Travelling on a shoestring is tiring and can be stressful at times but all the effort has been worthwhile when I look back at the awesome times I've had. I'm amazed by the kindness of strangers and forever grateful to those who had helped us on the road. It has been a rewarding and enriching journey of self-discovery, of others, of my own country and the rest of the world.
Thank you to those who have been a faithful follower of my posts, whoever you may be, however far you may be on the other side of the globe.
