It was a mad scramble to pack up amidst the ferocious winds at Mt Cook. We were still on time despite taking longer than usual to pack. I drove a short distance on the way to Geraldine. Picked up a hitchhiker along the way. John from Scotland living in Auckland as a quantity surveyor was running late for his flight. His friend's car broke down and it was his first time hitching a ride. I left him my number in case he can't get any rides at Geraldine. While having breakfast (English muffin taste pretty good), I received John's text saying he managed to get a ride and should be able to catch his flight.
On the way to Christchurch we picked up a 18 year old backpacker from France. He had quite a few bags and looked worried about getting his next ride he wasn't in the mood to chat much. He was heading to a campsite in Waipawa, north of Christchurch and insisted to be dropped off along the highway before entering Christchurch. We dropped him at Rolleston. Bought some Cookie Time. 南北 was full so we went to 上海人家 which was also in Addington. Sab was still full and unwell so we didn't order much. Their dim sum turned out to be quite nice. Since there was still time, we went back to Northland Mall to check out my previous work place but no more Lily Collection. Returning the rental car was swift, checked in at the airport and lost Sab again on the plane. It was time to bid farewell to my friend. Dropped Sab off at Bunny St and she passed me a note and some money. I wished her all the best for the rest of her journey and encouraged her to move out of her comfort zone and get to know as many people as possible.
