New Plymouth to Auckland: Te Rewa Rewa Bridge, Three Sisters & The Elephant Rock

December 27, 2015

Boxing Day Sale finally bought a cooking pan cover and a camping table! He found a black long sleeve hiking shirt in Kathmandu while I bought one from Macpac at a steal. More photo shoot at Te Rewa Rewa but Mt Taranaki was covered in clouds. Last night's stay at Waitara Beach was more comfortable than sleeping in Ducks & Drakes (5 bed dorm). The next morning we went back to Te Rewa Rewa Bridge before leaving New Plymouth as the weather was super clear. Unobstructed views of Mt Taranaki at last!

Fresh air, fine weather and stunning views

Moved on to Tongaporutu to find the Elephant Rock. It wasn't that obvious from afar but we could clearly spot the remaining two rock formations known as the Three Sisters. They remind me of the 12 Apostles in Melbourne and the sea stake in Bako National Park, Kuching.

I had planned to visit a waterfall near Waitomo but turned back because it was getting late. Charged all the way to Auckland, put up our tent at Ambury and drove to J Tea, full of anticipation. Damn shiok sia!

Trying out our new camping table

The two horses farted at me and walked away lol

Best bubble tea in NZ!

Walked around the campground in the evening checking out the animals as the sun set.
