Where the river flows

May 20, 2009

This Heilongtan was 10 times better than Beijing's Heilongtan.

It's a picturesque park (see man painting by the river) where people come to see the snow mountain, blue skies and white clouds which are all reflected on the surface of the water. It used to be free but they're charging 80 yuan as "preservation and maintenance fee" for all major attractions in Lijiang now.

Hou lang~

Whee~

Ancient Naxi music very famous worldwide

Nice doggy

I'm not afraid of dogs :)

Who took this for them?

I did

She's not one of them above. See, I told u everyone dresses alike here. Shades and long colourful dresses.

Are you guys paid to wear this on such a hot day??

Sour plum juice (5 yuan) and long xu tang (10 yuan)

Rooms were ok, free map provided, free internet usage. The only thing I wasn't satisfied was the service. The staff were not very friendly and helpful. We asked the guy at the front desk for travel information but he didn't give any useful recommendations or advices. But well, at least he's not rude or discriminates Asians like The Hump in Kunming.

Feeling groggy after sleeping for a few hours...

100 yuan/night

Dali UV did us in

PAIN

Oops we did it again
(Yesterday's food)

Lunch was noodles and mapo toufu

Dinner was at this Naxi restaurant that's too expensive but we met this super helpful and friendly waitress from Shangrila who gave us more travel tips than the guy back at Panba. She secretly gave us a map of Shangrila, a name card of the hotel she worked at last time and lent us her phone to call our hostel to book the bus tickets to Tiger Leaping Gorge tomorrow.
